Become an Educator

Are you a natural teacher? Could you be an Early Childhood Educator?

Situated in the heart of the Abbotsford Convent precinct, Ignite Minds is offering a unique early childhood education experience that is sympathetic to the teachings of Rudolph Steiner.  Form lasting relationships with children.  Make a difference! Consider a career in Family Day Care.

We are looking for exceptional people to be part of this wondrous community and become Early Childhood Educators.

Get paid to educate children in your own home.

Many of our educators charge in excess of $12 per child per hour for quality play based education.  A standard booking is 10 hours from 8am till 6pm.  Multiply this by 4 children and you are earning $480 per day ($115,200 for 48 weeks) doing something you love!

Daily duties will include:

  • Program development / creating meaningful play
  • Establishing relationships with children and parents
  • Supporting the delivery activities
  • Supervising and educating children through play

It is a prerequisite that all child care employees have a Early Childhood Education qualification.  We recommend Certificate III in Children’s Services from Organisational Learning Australia as an entry pathway to this industry.   If you have other qualifications you can check if they are approved on the ACECQA Qualifications Checker.

If you are qualified then please call 1300 856 463 now to arrange an interview.

No qualifications? No worries! Full training and support can be provided to the right applicant.  We recommend Organisational Learning Australia who offer Early Childhood courses with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding. Eligibility and conditions apply.  We offer you an employment guarantee if you study with Organisational Learning Australia that is subject to police clearance and you meeting home safety requirements.

This Guarantee means a lot in todays education market.  The media is full of reports of too many dodgy training providers that do not teach anything.  We are confident that if you study with OLA you will have all the skills to be an exceptional educator.  We are so confident we will enable you to commence employment whilst studying so you can earn 3 days and and learn 2 days per week!  This is subject to some conditions (that you are actively progressing, that you have a safe home and that you meet police clearance requirements) so please discuss this at interview.

The right applicant will demonstrate a genuine desire to establish a career in the Child Care industry and:

  • Be reliable and honest
  • Be well spoken and well presented
  • Be caring and nurturing by nature and have domestic and creative skills
  • Have a suitable home environment that caters to both indoor and outdoor play.

If you are hardworking with a positive, friendly, and enthusiastic outlook on life then we want to hear from you! Please send your resume through to

Applicants must have full working rights in Australia and be willing to undertake Victorian Police Check, a Working with children's check, Current First Aid and Anaphylaxis Training as well as the appropriate qualifications.
